de Barcelos is very common in Azores, mainly at Terceira. Alternative written
forms include Barcellos, Bracel(l)os, Barselos, Baracelos.

I agree with JS Lopes. The Portuguese hall in Artesia, California has a
heavy concentration of people from Terceira. There are Barcelos families
there. However, I haven't seen the first name Filisberto in my research.
Maybe that's more unique.

It seems that twice in my father's line men have taken mothers maiden names
over fathers last names. Through my research my paternal last name has
changed from Martins (currently) to Dias and now to De Barcellos.

There is a Bracellos family in Tulare, Ca. One of them, Anthony
Bracellos, has written a novel based on his family. The title of the book is
