I am having a little trouble getting this running, I have read the docs etc
Here is my config.pl for the archive host

I thought one option might be to use an offsite instance of backuppc to
rsync copy the file pool or a tar archive. It sounds like you're

is a line from my sudoers file:
backuppc
ALL=NOPASSWD: /bin/tar /etc/backuppc/tarCreate
tarCreate
is:
#!/bin/sh
-f
exec
/bin/tar -c $*
When
I try to run the backup at the command line I still get the 256 error.

I have a set of users who copy data (a lot) to the server for temporary
usage - to run computation.
Usually I keep around 5 full backups (going up to 5 month back) and
incrementals each day of the week, but for those guys I need a separate
policy -- like only last 3 d

please take a look at the permissions given to the files, because they must
be accesible to the backuppc user/group.

but I can't find any domain password in it. I imagine you are talking about $Conf{SmbClientFullCmd}
– but I can’t see how to work it around.

like :

My password is containing "," and then uppercase and lower case characters only.
I put it in config.pl for local computer, wher can I find the environment
variable PASSWD ?
