I'm relucant to even say, because you are heading in an unproductive
direction. But here goes: a compressed file without checksums starts
with 0x78 and a compressed fi

Wait
I am having this *exact* issue. However, I run a dedicated apache
server for BackupPC that I compiled myself. No modules are loaded
except mod_perl and mod_unique_id is not statically compiled either.
I've never had issue with starting the apache server like yourself.
However, I do have the

I have email notifications setup in the config.pl, I got an email
telling me I had some folders that were not in the hosts file, but when
the backup failed for two days straight I didn't get any email
notification, is there something specific I need to do?

OK - since my nfs doesn't seem to be working, I now tried installing
BackupPC directly on my NAS device (dns-323).
When I run config.pl, I get the following error message:
Error loading BackupPC::Lib: Bareword "compareLOGName" not allowed
while "strict subs" in use at lib/BackupPC/Lib.pm
Hi, thank you for your answer.
I want only full backup not to make it more complicated into customer
head :D
It's a bit hard ton make them understand what's the little difference
between one and another, btw with full backup, i'm sure that all the
files are checked each time, even if it takes a b

I think you are kind of missing the point that they could both be
corrupted in other ways...

Do a restore to a temporary location and then compare the original with
the restore using the diff command:
diff -r /path/to/original/* /path/to/restore

Just so you know, rsync full backups take quite a bit

This has been debated over and over again, but really doing a mix of
full and incremental backups is best for most situati
Well, it seem that setting incrperiod to 0 make it working correctly.
Just tried with a host that didn't start, because of high incrperiod
(365), i put that to 0, and on the next hour, the full started!
So, i think it's ok.

Hi there,
Juste asking you on question on planning execution.

are ok for my needs giving me the same results as incremental.
But, in order to disable incremental, i set Incrperiod to 360 for
incremental, and, 0.97 For full p
