Whenever I face this problem, I just put one line: /etc/init.d/backuppc start in /etc/rc.local DK -- Flow-based real-time traffic analytics software. Cisco certified tool. Monitor traffic, SLAs, QoS, Medianet, WAAS etc

[BackupPC-users] Backup seem to fail after premature child issue

Hi, While the backup in progress and the client (i.e. VM) goes down (e.g. paused), the backup when resumed always tend to fail. It does not resume back from where it stopped and it as well hinders the subsequent backup. Appreciate some advise on  how to overcome this. Regards, Prem.---

Hi, I am using BackupPC 4 alpha3. I'm trying to troubleshoot some problems but I cannot see the log content. /usr/local/BackupPC/bin/BackupPC_zcat: can't uncompress XferLOG.44.z The file is not empty: -rw-r- 1 backuppc backuppc 4902326 Feb 11 19:48 XferLOG.44.z What could be the problem?

Hi Michael, I understand where you coming from but what happened was, the VM was paused for a image backup, which happened at the interval where we was not aware of. I am sure avoiding is the best thing to do BUT since it has already happened, just wondering how do we ensure the backup resumes
