having a lot of RAM may also speed up your machine, because the server
can read ahead data. I think it may be a matter of tuning that server
to get better performance.

give some hints on read ahead tuning.

did anybody notice that this won't work for Centos6? BackupPC-XS-0.57
is not available as there has been an error in the build process
BackupPC-4.1.5 relies on the .57 version, so the system breaks, if
updated to 4.1.5 :-(
