Hi,
Sometimes, the back up of /root or /usr fails due to open files. I have 2
questions with regards to it?
1. How to skip the open files and CONTINUE with the backup without failing?
2. How to backup the open files if possible?
I often notice the backup aborts when there are some issues such a

Hi,
While the backup in progress and the client (i.e. VM) goes down (e.g. paused),

it stopped and it as well hinders the subsequent backup.
Appreciate some advise on how to overcome this.

Hi David,
I am also using KVM and VM for the backuppc running on Ubuntu 12.04. It can run
without issues but based on my observatio, you need to roughly allocate 1 core
for 1 client that requires backup. For example if you have 10 clients then its
better to allocate 10 cores.

Based on my experinced...if Windows could be due to open files..
On linux, possibly due to permission where the user account used (other than
root) does not have permission to access the directories. Update your sudoers

Hi,
You could simply point a symbolic link (i.e. ln -s) from the /var/lib/backuppc
to the mounted (in fstab) NAS location. This is better that changing the
config.pl to point to the direct NAS location.
