Self update on problem #1 - possible solution I found that the permissions on the /devices/.../[EMAIL PROTECTED],0:changer was rw for root:sys only. Adding the bacula user to sys and chmod'ing the device to 660 helped - bacula-sd can now count the number of slots via mtx-changer. I found that
