Thanks for your reply Arno...
*If* it is a bug, it has crept in between 1.36.2 and 1.38.9 releases. I just
confirmed that the restore goes fine (ie. both tests work as expected) on a
1.36.2 install. Taking the exact same config files (provided), a 1.38.9
release
fails with the same message

Bacula version 1.38.9/1.38.11 with MySQL
I would very much appreciate it if anyone could clarify an issue that has come
up while attempting to restore from a bootstrap file.
The question is actually fundamentally quite simple...Can a BSR file be used to
perform a restore if you have the boostr

Any thoughts on this scenario? I'm not sure that a quick answer exists.
I'd like to have bacula back up our collection of hosts to it's
file-based pool, so that we can browse backups "online" and restore
individual files quickly.
I'd also like to have a complete off-site copy of the pool for d

Read the manual regarding this. You're missing a "Maximum Concurrent
Jobs" statement, though I couldn't swear whether it goes under Storage
or under Device. That should get you started, however. BTW, you should
really upgrade that FD -- Bacula is not d
I think this may be a permission problem. Check your
permissions on both sides.

I've noticed that bacula (1.38.11) reports that the same media is in different
pools at the same time, with "stat stor" and "stat clients" giving the wrong
information.
For example, I've included output from "stat clients" (below, edited). Note the
pool names in the section "Running Jobs", wher

I have installed new bacula server 1.38.11 on debian testing/unstable
runnig on PC and one of the clients, running on FreeBSD 6.1 version
1.38.5_1, is giving me problem:

The only problem right now is that you have to run more than one job
for this to happen and thus the if there are changes to the filesystem

The fd sends data to the sd.

I have used Acronis in the Windows environment and can give some insight
into its operation.
Firstly I would like to say that I think it is a very good disaster
recover solution for a single server/workstation.
It is not designed for backing up to tape and is not ideal for backing
up to DVD.
hey,
i have 3 questions.
1. delivers the FD the backupdata straight to the SD or uses he the detour
over the Director?
2. is it possible to write a backup of one client simultaneously to
different Storages Devices, so that the backup is distributed?
3. is it possible to run bacula over a infin

Hey there,
we redid our schedule to include incremental backups and we seem to have
a bit of problem here (bacula Version: 1.38.11 (28 June 2006) )
We use file-backed backups and we have configured 6 different storages
(from monday to saturday):
Device "StorageMontag" (/bacula/montag/montag-XX

Hi,
new to this list so bare with me!
I have some directors to monitor and on my desktop I'm using
bacula-tray-monitor. In the monitor I always get an error on my
directors:
"You must specify a "use " command before continuing."
What have I missed and how can I satisfy my directors?
Thanks!!!
