Hey, I do not have the control over the DNS server for either my windows machine or the Unix Server. My Unix server which is also the bacula dir server cannot ping my windows client by host name, and again I do not have the control over the DNS server. So I guess I am left with the third option.

I have not seen this problem. For us, we have 3.6 GB of mem allocated to Bacula (running on ESX server).
