You must have somewhere that the volume will only be used for one job. I
see the volume is marked "Used". It got that way somehow, probably
through Max Volume Jobs or Volume Use Duration. If you ARE using Volume

Ah...
Some clarification: by clients, I meant the client application, the bacula-fd
agent rather then the machines themselves, though in general if you can use
RunBeforeJob with a completely shut down system and have no problems, doing so
with just a downed agent should be no problem as well

I have read the documentation but I am still very confused over the
pool/volume setup when dealing with disks. I have two large raid disks
that I was trying to use (dump1 and dump2). I would like to have fulls
goto one disk and incremental backups goto the other, or, have some
servers backup

When I was having problems with downed clients causing y backups to
wait for a long time, someone suggested using RunBeforeJob to ping the
client and if it failed, to reschedule for an hour later. The
suggestion was also made to netboot the computers, back them up, and
if they were not on to begin

Do not schedule a job, just run it when you feel like running it. This
makes the most sense. To do this, you would create a job, but include no
schedule.

Hi all,
I'm a new user to bacula and I'm trying to start using
this at work to replace the current mix of scripts that do backups (to
disk). One of the requested requirements is to leave the clients off for
as long as possible, preferably turning them on only when a job is ready to run
Hi guys,
I'm trying to make a Dell pv-122t autochanger work with bacula - on a
SLES 10 server.
if I use the standard mtx-changer script that comes with bacula 2.0.3,
and give it a:
# mtx -f /dev/sg0 status
Storage Changer /dev/sg0:1 Drives, 8 Slots ( 0 Import/Export )

I'm guessing you have no machine down there on which to do the backup? I
understand you want the data written to storage at your local location,
but you could have a machine local to the NAS do some sort of NFS/SMB
mount and use it as the -fd device. A
Is it possible to use a remote network storage device as the backup medium

My understanding from the documentation and the questions posed here, is
that it isn't possible - because each storage device needs to have an
attached machine on which the storage daemon is running. Am I rig

Bacula User group,
Forwarded was an E-mail I had received with the subject "Hacker
Attack". I investigated the header of the E-mail, expecting it to be
random spam (it was sent by "test" who was at [EMAIL PROTECTED]") and
looking at the message trail, it appears to have originated from my I.P.

Hi,
bacula 2.0.3 on debian etch with kernel 2.6.18-amd64 and postgres 8.1.
Some may remember, I had this problem some months ago. A full backup
job starts and an old tape is reused, then the next daemon message is
that max configured use duration of this tape exceeded.

Hi
