I'm a complete noob at Bacula, so please excuse what is probably a very
simple problem. I would like to develop a backup strategy to backup all
files on a client's WinXP D drive that are UNDER 100mb. Can someone please
help me with the file-set that would allow me to do this? The bacula daemon

Thanks Martin,
The bacula scripts in my initscripts all have the following:
# if /lib/tls exists, force Bacula to use the glibc pthreads instead

Just recently upgraded to Bacula 2.2.0 from 2.0.3 on Debian etch
with mySQL 5.0.32- since the upgrade, I've seen a number of
incremental jobs fail with references to the bacula.batch table:

Bacula 2.2.0 on SLES 10. Ecrix 1x10 autoloader.
When I originally set this up, it labeled barcodes flawlessly. Now I get this

The output shows that it is using the libraries from /lib/i686, which are the
good ones. I think you must have the exports in the init scripts already.
The bad libraries would start with /lib/tls. E.g. look at
cat /proc/$$/maps
in the shell (though that will only use libc, not libpthread).

Hello everybody,
I plan to use Bacula as backup-system , but i need a little
information. Is it possible to use compression for a part of the data
and not to use it for another part?

Bacula will search the pool for any volume labeled "Append" and use the
first one it finds. The search for an appendable volume is random, so it will

It is not needed. It can be useful for changers with 2 or more drive
as in this case you can force operations (jobs, label barcodes ...) on
any tape drive in the archive.
