I'm re-instating my bacula system after an althernative system failed.
Unfortunately the config files I have are not the right version and I can't
get concurrent backups working again.
I have 30+ workstations and 10+ servers all backing up to 3 storage devices. I

Are you accessing /dev/st0 or /dev/nst0 ?
If st0 then this is expected - /dev/st* are _rewinding_ tape devices.
You must _always_ use /dev/nst0 with bacula or you will get weird results.

What I was thinking is of a way maybe to have some password based
encryption, where only the users know his password but I didn't find any
solution that can work like this.
I guess for now we have to settle that the IT admin. Or the Sys admin have
access to the encrypted data.

I used the command btape for testing. Everything is ok, there was no error:
btape-c bacula-sd.conf / dev/nst0
