Hi ;) ..
I think would be nice support for LTO-4 Libraries...
I'd bought a TS3100 LTO-4 Library and need to use TSM with it :(
I'll really prefer to use bacula instead.
PS: I have no idea about problems to make it works (licensing, hardware,
proprietary issues) sorry :)

Well... a workaround that i use with it is, instead of backspace I use
shift+backspace ..
This also works when console unrecognize backspace and put a ^] at screen...
But, I thought it isnt a bacula bug, just a miss config at your
terminal (termcap/terminfo, term environment... )

Hi folks...
Someone there can help me with that doubt..
Is LTO-4 backward compatability with LTO-2 and LTO-1 ?
I'm buying a LTO-4 TS3100 Library, but at this time i'm not needing
all tape capacity. So, I was thinking to use it with my old LTO-2
tapes for read/write ... Is it possible ?

Thanks John :)
Mainly to you remember about my problem and suggest me something ..
I'll try it, and post results here in sequence...
Can I use "time" to mensure copy time ?
# time dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/nst0 bs=1M count=128

Hi there..
Folks, I'm using Spool directory now expecting to minimize my problem
with LTO1 slow recording (see other thread :).
I'd configure spool size to 100G and hope that:
- When bacula fill the tape, I'll have 100G to spool data and just
record them when provide a new tape.
But wasnt what

Spool Directory is local and data (source of backup) is local too. All
job is between disk and tape.
My Spool size is 100Gb.
Thanks.

Thanks Ralf..
This is exactly what happen..
Worst problem is that all my jobs reach 200G/day, and this is a big
problem because i'm not at work 24hs/day to keep changing tapes, and
backup is accumulating :/
Still worst when I need to recover something and bacula is recording
tape all day... :/
Good morning folks...
This is my first e-mail to the list, I'm brazilian so, sorry for my english :)
My problem is follow:
I have a dedicated backup server using bacula with disk and LTO-1 storages.
When I was using tar/star unix commands to record the tape I was
getting a transfer rate near of
