what is the rationale behind bacula restore? is it the
admin's job? or can it also be the client machine user
(think losedows xp machine w/ one permanent user)?
backuppc went w/ the latter, but sometimes it can be
too much responsibility for the

1st there's a recurrent bug in the manual, you can't
use latex commands (\bf) inside a verbatim section.
i think there's an alternative section type where you
can do that.
that gives lines like these:

i managed to get the schedule and pools right,
following the "daily, weekly, monthly tape usage
example".
i changed the "use volume once = yes" because it's
totally incompatible with multiple jobs (expecting ~8
client jobs).
i replaced them this way
anyone got a clue?

rollout, i was impressed.
my first config was pretty simple, it was disk backup
from 1 server, 1 linux client, 1 xp client.
now i want to get a real stable _tape_ conf.
