How do I convince BBedit 9.5 to NOT show invisibles on new docs and
old documents alike? I turned "Save state" OFF, I turned "Show
Invisibles" OFF in the preferences. I've even resorted to deleting all
preference files related to BBedit, and all old copies of BBedit...
nothing works. This is really
Peter,
Works like a champ for me as is—thanks for sharing it. Is it possible you used
to have the Universal Access: Enable access for assistive devices option on and
don't anymore?

Last December, Jim Correia generously provided me with this very useful
AppleScript for saving and naming an insta-project. It used to work great, but
now under BBEdit 9.5, it's generating an error:
"Project document 1 doesn't understand the <> message"
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I won't write one up then :)
It is a skill worth acquiring if you do this kind of stuff period

Thanks, Tim.

There is no token for filename in the replace mechanics, but you could write an
AppleScript to do this:

Thanks, Brian.
Yes, it's easy for one file, and I'll do it that way if necessary. I was rather
hoping for some function that allowed a multi-file replacement of \r with
\t[filename]\r.

At the very least, you could do Text -> Prefix/Suffix lines with " \t
Basketball_Boys " in suffix for that file. You'd have to do each file
separately, but that's super easy.

I have 57 files. Each contains a list of student names. In order to import into
a database, I need to append the filename to the end of each line in each file.
To use a simplified example, the Basketball_Boys.tab file contains
Andy [tab] Aardvark
Billy [tab] Badger
Carl [tab] Cougar

I am dealing with the output of an xml parser (xerces) and it gives me
a character array and positions inside that array (it does not care

move the cursor to a given character position would efficiently and

I have a really large project to mantain, and it's very messy when you
mix directories and files together. is there a way to have directories
first and then files?
thanks!
