The Council of Canadians organized a speaker tour in the western provinces to rally
support against GM wheat. The tour ran from late Feb. through last week, but no news
of it here in the east (where we only care about potatoes). Did anyone (Eric?) attend
any of these meetings?
It seems to me
Very interesting article by Kirschenmann, but what jumped out at me was this
inconceivable proposition by S. Blank to rid the country of agriculture! Just when you
think you've heard it all ...
It's on par with Milton Friedman last week calling for legalization of insider

Two things from CBC radio today -
1. Ag Canada will be conducting research in Saskatchewan this season with vinegar
spray for pre-seed burn-off. Tom Wolf of Ag Canada was interviewed on a general

Southwest Nova Scotia, walking distance to the coast. Seaweed is still plentiful here,

Manfred, I have stored carrots with no problems under heavy mulch (about 1-1/2 ft of
eelgrass/seaweed - but hay is used more commonly) through winter. Here we don't
usually get consistent snow cover, so the roots have been easily accessible through
winter. If you get snow or ice over them, it's

(Dumb question hour.) Can the preps freeze and retain their forces? I've read not -
but you can freeze seeds with no loss of vitality. What is the difference?

Allan, do you know if this works with Amazon Canada or UK purchases? If you have an
account with Amazon U.S., it's the same account name/password for the other countries,
but I don't know if the purchase protocols carry over.
By the way, what will you do with all the money? Are there BD farms
Well, gratitude to Jane and all others on BDNow! for taking their time and effort to
post these articles, write detailed and practical responses to all manner of questions

I would add critical thinking to Stacey's four requirements for democracy, maybe you
could say it's a subset of true literacy - but it certainly seems to have declined
drastically in the past three decades.

Steve, weren't you using some seaweed stuffed in a conch shell as a
