I discovered (the hard way) that some WiFi adapters don't like special
characters in the passphrase. My Logic Supply USB adapter had no problem
with my existing passphrase that included a dash (short), exclamation
point, and pound symbol. But the Alfa Network AWUS036H was not happy with
that,

Turns out I was connecting to the USB hub with the client port on the BBB,
when it's the host port one needs to use. Just changing that cured
everything! The client port is only for programming the BBB, I see. Live

In the powered USB hub it isn't recognized on boot. Ditto for the Logitech
