What would cause the navigation messages on the squeezebox screen to be
garbled? For example, the connect to prompt started with 4 characters
above 128?
If I could not connect to the server, and the server did not see the
Squeezebox, how could the firmware have been reloaded?

I guess the device got itself in a bad way and corrupted some part of
