I haven't tried the patch (I'm on 6.5), but I've read the comment on the bug, and it sounds like a good step in the right direction. However, I think that maybe common VA album names are more common than you may think - this could be a problem for me. I think you are saying that there is no

Not at all. Reading the bug report comments seems to indicate that if these tracks are tagged correctly as belonging to a compilation album, then they will be properly grouped. As I understand it, if you have two VA albums of the same name, and all tracks on both albums are tagged as
