Can you run with the --d_scan and --d_import options?
SlimServer is still reporting it's scanning 20 hours after it forst
strated.
I've enabled the debug options but the log file is blank.
Although both slim.exe and slimtray.exe are running the scanner is not.

Hi again!
After a mysql update today slimserver has stopped working - I get the
following in slimserver.log:
Transactions not supported by database at /usr/lib/perl5/DBI.pm line 1666.
The update itself consisted of security and bug fixes, so seemed safe.

Does your MySQL installation support the InnoDB backend?

It should, but maybe the package is horribly broken - how can I check?

Don't know for sure. Check /etc/my.cnf - if there's a line
skip-innodb
...then it's no good :-). If there are a few lines like

InnoDB is enabled according to config file and syslog.
That's another problem. If you have installed that module on your system,
then rename /opt/slimserver/CPAN/YAML to be sure SlimServer is using your
version.
Done. That gives

Did you compile DBD cie. yourself?
No, I'm using the Debian testing packages.
Be sure you're using the same module version as are used/distributed with
Slimserver.
I'll double-check the versions, but it doesn't seem a likely cause
since it was working fine before with an identical perl

Most likely a combination of the two - I've just opened a Debian bug

6.5b1 - 9064 (last nights) displays the wrong thumb nails in album art
view. When i select the album it shows the right image, but the
thumbnails are all mixed up.
Also, clear and rescan duplicates every track again.

Dan,
Somewhat related issue, when an album has no art, the default folder
picture is displayed in e.g. 'New Music'
For a while now some of my albums have this on a black background, and
some on white (default skin).
Is there some reason behind this?

It is? But it never finishes ad scanner.exe is not visible in processes

trouble

Internet Explorer not able displaying PNG files with transparency, I
guess...

Help
Hi,
Just wondered if anyone else was having difficulty running the latest
6.5b1 as a service on XP. Done the usual clean uninstalls etc,
cleaned registry, turned off security during install but still the
problem remains.
Any thoughts / comments welcome.
Si
btw despite the above, I still

It's interesting that I have this problem on my server when in fact
SlimServer still uses its own mysql binaries when starting its server
(according to the logs). Maybe it's actually the updated client module
that's the problem.

I've seen this too (in 6.3.1 and 6.5b1), but I think it's correct
behaviour; the various artist processing must happen at the end of the
scanning process, because it's not going to know who's a one-off and
who isn't, until the scanning completes.

Ok, I either misread or misunderstood your use of 'PWD'. I assume you
mean the breadcrumb trail in the top LH corner of the Fishbone skin,
right (and in other places in other skins, presumably)?
Yes, sorry, I didn't know what it was supposed to be called officially, but

nope this is in Firefox.

And the ones with black backgrounds have links like this - but with a
different url each time.
To rule out the resized artwork caching, could you remove the contents
of Cache/File Cache and the browser cache while the server is running
and see if it impacts the artwork returned?

typically hte generic url indicates there is no artwork.
the full url,
I'm currently testing the patch--thanks to some extra help from gerph.
It's working well! I've scanned my collection and have not uncovered
any problems so far. A re-scan using MusicMagic worked well also.
I will post if I find any new problems.
