I tried to stop SC via the tasktray icon but it just says Stopping
SqueezeCenter .. for ages. TaskMgr shows that the tasktray and SC
processes are still running. (Meanwhile SB prompts for the firmware
upgrade OK but shows the library as empty.)
So I ended up killing the SC processes.
I
I eventually found the prefs file (C:\ProgramData is a hidden/system
folder) and removed the 'password' line.
Restarted SC and up pops the login prompt again. :-(
As long as SC is running, editing that file won't do anything. You have to make
sure SC is stopped. Did you try a reboot?

Thanks - It is two old CDs that I ripped several years ago. I think that
the Copy protect music option was set in Windows Media Player when
ripping.(I have that option switched off now :-).
That might be the explanation for the problem I have experienced.

I'm having the same problem that the settings page won't load.
Even Squeezecenter isn't displayed properly. There is always Waiting
for localhost... shown in the statusbar of the browser.
I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and Firefox 2.0.0.11.

Just checked the server.log. Seems to be a problem with Perl, but I am
no expert here.

But I can't work out how to shut down and restart! There used to be a
shut down option in Squeezetray, but now the only options I have is
Open SqueezeCenter.

SC 7.0. E.g. when you install/configure a plugin it says to restart SC
but there is no apparent option to do so? It seems you are expected to
