I uninstalled SC7, re-installed SlimServer_6.5_v2008-01-30, rescanned
all my music - and it seems to have worked(!?)
I'd be more positive of this if someone could point me at the location
of the SS log files? As it is, using the SS website to see all recent

it's a checked out trunk version from (no gentoo build).
server is checked out to /opt/SqueezeCenter_svn/ as non-root user.

whats strange at least is that SC (started with --user) works fine
(including wipe+scans), but calling scanner.pl directly as this user
(and even if it's executed as root!) bails out with this message.

On www.squeezenetwork.com I cleared out old players, and now see no
players.
Yet, these players do connect to some squeezenetwork,

Looks like the scanner is trying to migrate preferences, which should
only occur in the server when it is first started and has not saved
preference files in the new format.
So the question is did you start the scanner with the location of the
preference folder if it is a non default location?
OK. I'm not familiar with the actual error you're seeing, but it seems
like a permissions issue. I've also never used --user and --group but
bug 5035 suggests they are broken. You might want to try running both
SC and the scanner by changing the user with su instead.

okay, it's working now!
Previously i've started slimserver.pl with the option --logfile
/var/log/squeezecenter.log.
As SC displayed and used this file as SqueezeCenter Log File and
Scanner Log File i was on the quest to separate those two files for
better error tracking.
I restarted
Updated to 02-08 SC - scan failed (again).
Am I the -only- one running SC on a W2KServer PC?
BTW, I'm wondering if this is related to the MySQL temp file
permissions issue...(?)
