As far as I am aware, the relevant jive.bin file is part of the SC
package, so gets pushed out to the Controller when you install an
updated SC (if the jive.bin file has been updated). I saw something
similar with the missing audio enable option a few days ago and
mentioned it - the response was
Well SBC don't uppgrade as often as SC but afiak firmware is still

So I'll wait some more, not a problem as I asume it has improved when
it's back .
I use to save a local copy of many of the fw's as it easier to revert

For testing purposes, Id like to run more than one SqueezePlay
instance.
Unfortunately, this currently doesnt work well, since -all- (even
remote) SqueezePlay instances seem to use the same MAC address
00:10:dc:0e:d0:07.
Is there any way I can easily change that?

The mac in Question is in fact the mac of your PC or NIC is it not ?
This is a very good question not only for testing purposes but also if
you have multiple logins for different persson on the same PC .
( I have asked this somewhere before )
SP is smart enough to provide every user with induvid

It is unfortunately not even able to tell two SqueezePlays apart that
are on two different machines, 300 mi. across the country ...

Try to rename the players in the "player" settings in SC.
Connect one at the time and rename it and give it a try ?
This should be possible as it can tell controller SP from SP on my
desktop machine. It is almost the same program ?

Besides the mac address there will also be the issue of two sets of
audio output to be handled.
I think the current assumption is there is only one audio output per PC
as very few users have multiple audio card
But their can be more than one user but not at the same time ?
Would be good if this could be interpreted by SC as different players
?
If user A is listening in the morning with his/her settings.
and later user B logs on and listening to something else.
If it can be seen as different players tha
I did not notice at first, but there's no boot up sound or sound effects
in this version of the fw.
I did not notice because i have the effect sound at very low levels, as
when they are ok at the internal speaker they are at scull cracking
levels in headphones :)
Is this known ? or should I "bug
Renaming players doesnt helpas soon as the second SP is started it
takes over whatever the other SP was doing, even the sound. I left the
name "SqueezePlay" for the one on my PC (where SC also runs) while the
remote one was called "SqueezePetra".
When starting my SP, hers terminated audio while
This is a true bug you should file it !
the "normal" players are differentiated by their mac I think (possible
other things to ) ? all SB3 have macs in in a certain series as all
SBR's etc.
There must be something in this mechanism that fails
I only have one desktop PC so i can't try with more
Do you need the simulated user interface of SqueezePlay? If not,
Squeezeslave is not only a lot more reliable, it permits you to
designate a MAC address.

That doesn't really make any sense. How could an instance of
SqueezePlay running on one PC use the MAC address from another?

Guess Ill try to more closely investigate on that tomorrow night. Maybe
I -really- mixed something up with the remote and local, because we were
also testing synchronisation stuff. In any case its for sure that all
SPs on this PC use the mentioned MAC. -And- its for sure that SC/the
SPs got c

I think they are up to something audio playback is gone sound effect is
gone.
And there's a lot of activity in the SqueezePlay source code, they
check in a lot of changes there just now hmm hmm.
maybe both Audio playback for controller and SqueezePlay is closing in
to some release ready status,
