Same here bmf works down to a particular artist with special charachters
"Björk" but the folders within has garbled charachters in their name and
won't play.
They play fine via artist or album as they are correctly picked up by
the scan.

I have the same problems with missing files if there are special
(national) characters when browsing via web interface "music folder"
including the "Problem: can't open file for..." when using the SB3.
The missing files seems to be correctly included in the music library
scanning.

This is still a problem with.

When you start up you get dysfunctional web UI with no players to
choose from etc, no working players and so.
chmod -R 777 /usr/share/squeezecenter
fixes it.
Otherwise this build is working just fine for me ( i have not have time
to delve deep into it )
faad is used to decode aac and m4a files as well as AAC/AAC+ streams -
so I think you are back to the same question:
Does the SC supplied copy of faad run on your OSX system ?
The previous answer you gave was inconclusive about executable
permissions since it seemed that flac was not executable

Can you be more explicit ?
What OS ?
What are the file format AAC, m4a, move ?

True, and makes sense. Thanks for the "addendum", Philip.
So if using Mp3tag (or the like) to add tags manually and have Album
Artist="Various Artists", you should set -TCMP=1- (ID3v2.3/v2.4) or
-COMPILATION=1- (FLAC, OGG).
If using MusicBrainz -Picard-, it will do this automatically.

That's Slim::Utils::Light, not Exporter::Light. I checked in a change
which hopefully will get the @INC paths right in tomorrow's build.

Beware that anyone with ALBUM ARTIST=Various Artists and without COMPILATION=1
will not be able to see their music under Various Artists.
If they used to have an ALBUM AR

Yeah, it's in the CPAN repository we're installing. There's something
wrong with @INC path.

Tried squeezecenter-cleanup on AMD64x2 ubuntu 8.04, SC 7.4~25628 and

Cool, thanks for the feedback!

There's nothing new in the CLI version. Just run the same script
(cleanup.pl, squeezecenter-cleanup or similar) from the command line.

As far as using a FQDN then I think you may want to vote for this bug:
