Just tried the June 30th nightly on XP and it when I scan for music it
comes up empty. I made sure to set the music library folder correctly.
Yes, it was broken. Please try todays build (revision 27311 or later).

Yes, it would be nice to support track specific year tags.
If you use id3v2.4, then you'd probably use TDOR (original release
time) for the original release dates of the individual songs and TDRL
(release time) for the what you might call the album year. There's

me). If there isn't an ALBUMYEAR, then, as you say, what to choose? I
guess this is a bit like VA logic. Could be user-customizable (from the
choices you suggest, earliest, latest, etc.), I don't really mind tbh,

possible to read the tags from disk or MusicIP, manipulate the results
in memory and write the results to the database in less than 5 minutes
(on reasonable hardware). That would be my design goal for a 30k song
