Some QD testing . WEB UI 50 items per page . server HP proliant micro server N36L with ClearOS Linux (dual core atom something 1Gb of ram ) BMF my music instantly pulls up the approximate 40 base folders . Clicks one of those, the largest one with 667 sub-folders loads in 15,7 seconds .

A little background to better understand the trade-offs: our UIs work in pages. The web UI shouws (roughly) 50 items per page this is a setting I've noticed that setting this very high like 500 slows things down , any thougth omn a reasonable use case ?

And it works , no problems at all . It also was a release candidate so maybe it includes time hirez . In general you don't have to build perl code you can instal the missing parts via yum or CPAN . And LMS tells wich parts it misses .
