where the previous alarm sound has been stopped?! I had to push the
volume up button to let the volume level jump to the correct

Same here. Today there was no loud burst followed by fade in like
yesterday. The alarm just started at the set volume. I must say this
is disappointing. An alarm should not be a new adventure every day! I
understand the need to fix bugs, but when problems like this occur
almost daily on such
Posted this in the radio forum, in case it may help those working on
this problem(s):
The problem is still there in the latest software/firmware which I
updated last night. It seems the radio plays the sound without going
into alarm mode. That is, the sound plays the instant the alarm time
I want to make sure this is clear-- absolutely none of the work that's
gone into SB Radio alarm stability affects Squeezebox Boom alarms. It's
clear that there are some things not working right for people with Boom,
but they are a separate issue from Radio.
For further clarity, the two products

Thanks for the info - I didn't know that.

Okay, I'll enable player.alarmclock, and leave my server unchanged for a few
days to see if it occurs again.

Anyway, I'll see if I can repeat a situation that loses my configured

I see all sorts of odd settings being changed and what I see on mysb

The syncing destroys player settings on SBS where things are not
available in MySB.com. Syncing needs to be much
And just a couple of minutes ago, an alarm set for only Saturday and
Sunday fired today (Tuesday) and instead of playing the selected
favorite it played the backup sound.

Does 7.5 currently attempt to wake the PC 10 minutes before the alarm
time? I read about that fix, but don't know if it was implemented. If
it was implemented, it did not work for me.

For the last few mornings, my 7am Boom alarm clock has failed to start. It's
meant to play LBC Radio.
The first time I got nothing. The last couple of days, I got the backup alarm
noise.
No errors in the log to indicate any problems.
Whatever changes have been applied to 7.5.0/trunk to make
Same here (using latest update that came for 7.4.2):
One morning i just got an alarm sound for about 1 second. Next morning
the alarm didn't fade in, but had full volume.
Seems to be more unreliable than 7.4.1 for me!

Firstly, I believe Phil and TheMule! are talking about different
products, boom vs. radio respectively.
