Hi guys
I also had a problem with duplicate music folder entries, all connected
to 'various artist' albums.
In the end after a lot of frustration I reverted to v6.0.2 and the
problem went away.
Has is been fixed in the latest version yet or is there a known
solution?
thanks

Rob, do you have saved playlists?
Then this could be the same problem as described in 'this bug report'

The ID3 tags (both v2 and v1) are all OK, yet slimserver randomly
splits compilations into multiple albums.
This seems insane - is there no workaround ?
Rob - if you turn on 'Common Album Titles' in Settings->Behavior, then wipe &
rescan, does the problem
After upgrading to 6.2 I'm experiencing the same problem, only
intermittently (with no obvious reason what is wrong).
All my compilations are under ".../Various Artists//" so
that should be OK.

Dan, why was this change necessary? It sounds like you're doing
something akin to "guess tags".
The change is only necessary when people have Various Artists albums that
aren't contained in the same album directory structure.
IE:

Thanks Dan. Good news is I have used iTunes to set the Compilation tag
on all my MP3 Various Artist albums and it has worked perfectly.
Just one final problem. I also have some FLAC Various Artist albums,
but iTunes does not appear to read FLAC files. Do you know of any
utility that will allow

"You might need to add a 'Compilation' tag to that album's tracks in
order for SlimServer to correctly identify it.
Unfortunately, Tag & Rename does not support this yet - I did speak to
one of their developers on the 10th of this past month, and he said it
would be

No. The tracks are in different directories. I have created a
different directory for each artist. This is how I have done it over
the past year, but this problem has only occured with version 6.2.

Are the tracks for that album all in the same directory?

If you select Search Music, then select Search Albums and then search
for an album containing various artists it lists the same album as many
times as there are tracks on it
For example, if I key in an album name such as :
