Yeah this should be improved in my remote-playlists
Doesn't need any special keystrokes. Sometimes SC picks up duration and
shows the Porgfress bar and sometimes it does not.
I'll turn on some logging (http.async ?) later to get an example.

OK - that podcast nows plays OK and can be ffwd.
I haven't got the right reproducible sequence yet but it looks like
playing a podcast and then some combination of stopping/clearling
playlist/some other keypress and then playing another podcast results
in the second podcast not showing up as seek

Works fine. Try --debug
player
.source
,scan
It looks like some podcasts work and some don't.
Can you try this URL - it doesn't ffwd for me on 7.1 Tune-in.

The BBC (and ABC) have their podcast setup on a webpage - the URL
changes with each programs. I tried using the standard SC Podcast last
August (when AlienBBC was moved to SC7) and it didn't work.
I'll look into the problem over the next few days.

If it's a normal podcast why is Alie
The problem is then how AlienBBC is requesting to get this stream
played.
IIRC At present the code returns an item with type "audio" and the URL
as above which AlienBBC main code then passes onto xmlbrowser.

I suppose the best way to look at the new "seek" method is to examine
code - Plugin/Scanner. Anywhere else - where is the podcast seek
implemeted ?
Here is a BBC podcast URL - RealPlayer can skip forward in the stream.
When played it returns info about its duration.

Just a note to give status - the issue needs investigation.
AlienBBC ffw/rew using the remote is broken - the scanner "cann scan"
message appears instead of AlienBBC skip minutes. Looks like Scanner
has overridden AlienBBC ffwd/rew handlers.
The WebUI still works in the AlienBBC manner but the
Andy,
I'm back on 7.1 after a couple of days. michael herger has been doing
some work which now works well.
Next works on podcats lists and alien lists. Skip forward works, just,
with alien streams. I am not aware of a progress bar? Skip forward
doesn't work with podcasts.

I do not know why it would give you a 404. Any errors in the log?

Andy,
If i have got this right podcasts works off the remote but gives a 404
error using the default GUI.
I can move forward through the podcasts with the remote and the playing
stream appears on the right side of the default gui.
If I've got your intentions wrong I apologise.

Running the latest svn code? I don't know then. Check one of the
failing plugins' install.xml files and make sure the maxVersion value
is set to *.

Hiandy,
I would test this but i am having isues with 7.1 that are jut too
annoying at present.
1. The on/off button doesn't work properly. It's the same as testing.
2. Unstable is showing more gui menu changes that unsettle me. This
time I have lost music services and favourites. also the usual
I just merged a little thing I have been working on the past few
days. You can now seek through remote MP3 and WMA files. WMA seeking
is limited to WMA files being served from Windows Media servers.
Please test it out in 7.1.
