Guess I got it fixed.
Patch for 7.4 is in 'Bug 10583'
Id be happy to get some testing and feedback on this change,
especially from people who use the MusicBrainz data
(MUSICBRAINZ_ALBUM_ID), FLAC files, and probably who dont store all
their
In SC7.4-24817, still the same bug as originally decribed: SC -requires-
dumb stuff like "Disc #1 of 1" to be able to group VA compilations (that
are not in the same folder) correctly.

They are actually album ids since MB tends to use only one entry for
"identical" re-releases. This -might- pose a problem for collectors
that collect several releases of the "same" album, I must admit
(thinking of old Blues and Jazz records). The real "obscure" releases
you might have to enter in

Really?
Some of my albums are in formats not supported by MusicIP. I don't archive
analysis, due it to corrupting some of my

Yes, the kludge would kind of work, except unless you always add it to all
albums, you could be caught out with two albums that have the same name.

OT, but Take That's album was called "The Circus" and it's pretty good

You haven't said how you are browing your music library. Have you tried
"Browse Artists > Various Artists" to see your compilation albums?

All artists contribute to music in some way (various roles). Some are the
primary performers on songs (artist role for normal albums), some are

The main reason is a very simple one: For broadcasting purposes, I
-need- (and want) all songs I have from any one artist stored together,
namely, in (below) an »artist« folder. Lets say Im more interested in
which titles I have than on which album they were.
Its still nice (and needed because
moonbase,
i have read very carefully this thread, but i'm confused...
is there a reason you don't store all the songs on a given disc in one
folder or dir?
btw, if all songs on a disc are in one dir, then my exp is if they
don't have an albumartist tag, or a tag treated as albumartist, (like

Im still
working at SCs Schema logic (trying to understand contributors and
roles). And I cant really find any other difference in the tags, maybe

I think I have found some more faults regarding the aggregation of
»VA«/»Compilation« albums, verified against both SC 7.3.2-24401 and
7.3.2-24523 (both Windows).
I was wondering why very few of my VA albums were shown as »albums«,
some even with a list of artists beneath, while -most- of them di
