My tags for artist R.E.M. are inconsistent. For some albums, I have REM,
elsewhere I have R.E.M. and R. E. M.. I guess freedb is inconsistent.

I tried a standard search for R. to find all other occurances. However, this

Actually, a change of plan - looking back at my original CD's, the band seem to
be R.E.M. more often than not, and some of the tracks on compilation disks
have got it wrong, so I will change all occurences to R.E.M. (without spaces).

For what it's worth, I tag my R.E.M. albums with ARTIST=R.E.M. and
ARTISTSORT=REM, in case punctuation is relevant to sorting with any
of the software I use to listen to or manage my music. This approach
may also help with searching.
