i am using 7.4.2 r29001 with moonbases DB tweaks. i also use avast, windows defender, and windows firewall. i am finding it VERY HARD to get SBS to start and operate WITHOUT cranking the holy hell out of my system drive (10,000rpm sata raptor). if i stop SBS, the cranking stops, and if i restar

and i have no playlists, dynamic or static. the "player side" of the webUI is empty. sometimes i just have to let it go on and on, 10 to 15min, and it mercifully stops on its own. something is def amiss here... (SBS is on the system drive, only the music is on the ext usb2 drive) -- MrSinat

ok, so i installed the newest nightly, and deleted "my" from the cache, and started SBS. however, when "my" was put back in the cache, it doesn't match filesize. it is 1.43kb while the stock my.tt is 972bytes i tried quitting, deleting, and restarting SBS just to be sure. is this normal? i ca

thats what i mean when i say i can't open it, i can't view the contents. but its smaller than moonbases my.tt so it must be from the stock my.tt anyway, so far back on the orig my.tt no HD cranking. but it is an intermittent issue, so i'm gonna ride with it for a bit b4 trying moonbases file ag

i spoke too soon... after starting control panel, but doing nothing with it, every 5-6seconds now, mysqld, using stock my.tt, is cranking my HD for about 2seconds. this is a new behavior, or different in how it manifests anyway. its at 0 cpu, then when it cranks it goes to 5-10% cpu. when i qu

I had a similar situation where HD was v. busy after startup - it turned out to be the Indexing Service. If you have Indexing service running - as a test you could set it so it doesn't run at startup and see if it makes a difference. -- bpa ---
