Hi BibDesk, What is the "right" way to handle the following use-case? I have a master .bib file, contain full details for every entry. This version is ideal for my PhD thesis, which has no word limit (at least not in the bibliography). But when I'm writing a conference paper, I have to conden

In addition to my last email: I have my macro definitions in separate .bib files; this way, I can load them into BibDesk as well, and biblatex takes several bib file inputs, so I can even change my mind within one document (long/abbrv titles and long/short citation). Jonas -- Jonas Zimmermann

You don't say whether you use latex or not. If you do, I encourage you to explore the possibilities of biblatex. It allows you to easily adjust citation and bibliography styles to your taste. This, together with the macros for journal title Christiaan mentioned, is how I did my thesis and other
