I just tried this, and I did not see the problem.
I am using BibTeX version 1.8.20 (6109), the latest, and macOS 10.13.6 (a bit
long in the tooth, admittedly).

Since, I think, the latest update (1.8.8), the content of the “side preview”
has changed. It used to give a “thumbnail” of the attached file, but now the
view is much larger, essentially filling the space allocated (see attached
screen shot).
The problem seems specific to macOS 10.13.6. On 10

I am seeing strange behavior when I try to create a new publication from a
bibtex item in the clipboard.
I pick up the item, usually from MathSciNet, and occasionally from other sites.
Using the shortcut OPT-CMD-L, I normally will see a new pub entered in the main
window, and an “index window”
FWIW, I have tried to reproduce this, with the following results, with BibDesk
1.8.2 (5548) on both systems.
macOS 10.13.6:
- double-clicking title bar makes the main window “full size”, but without
hiding the menu bar
- I see other behavior reported by the OP, but intermittently. In

Recent versions of BibDesk just use “base 64” encoding.
Feed the string *between* the “ = “ and first “}” to ba
Read the bottom of the mail to find out how to stop. This ain’t marketing.

Hi, all,
The attached .tgz file contains a .bib, .tex, and a couple of log files.
The .bib file (two items) is a MWE for a problem that was driving me bats. My
usual .bib file contains some 1100 entries, and the two in the enclosed were
far apart in the latter, so it took a while (using divide
; and not an archive. If you decode it, it should be much clearer to read.

Hi, all,
A while back, Adam provided a handy little snippet (read_bdsk_file) of python
code to read the file entries in .bib files. At some point recently, it
stopped working, because
print plist["relativePath"]
TypeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute '__getitem__'
