Heads up for anyone who parks his/her bike in Block 89 but might not always
bike out at the end of the day. (As for the mention of locks without bikes,
there might be a special place in Hell reserved for the self-entitled morons
who presume to "reserve" a prime spot by placing a lock on it.):
Maybe cyclists are trying to "reserve" a bike parking space with their lock.
Or maybe they just don't want to carry a heavy lock back and forth every day
when they always park in the same place. If block 89 provided a place to leave
U locks (that doesn't take up a bike parking space), that might
Funny, I would've never even thought about not locking my bike to a rack
just because there was a lock attached to it. As Chuck said, people don't
want to haul around their locks, and so leaving them attached to a rack
seems like a good solution that doesn't inconvenience anyone.

Count me in as someone who just leaves my heavy u-lock at work. I'm not
reserving a space, I'm just leaving it somewhere where it won't walk off.
No one seems to pay any attention to my u-lock because they often park in
the spot where I have left it. I don't mind at all if they do.
