Pete made a new platform feeder at home last night anf left to set it up at
7:20 A.M. It has a baffle that will hopefully keep the squirrels away. The
pigeon appeared about 8:30 a.m. and was hesitant to approach the new feeder.
After seeing other birds use the feeder, it eventually came do
PINE SISKINS arrived last Sunday and have increased in number daily to a
small flock of about 25. PURPLE FINCHES joined the TUFTED TITMOUSE (black
forehead) and the male RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER and the singing CAROLINA
WRENS at Taylor Woods a private property located at 1016 Wilson Ave.,
Kitchene
I have received messages from others who advised that the RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD
was seen by the Yendt family in the morning and from others later.
DIRECTIONS: from Hwy 401 @ km. 623 go south on Hwy 15 to the T-junction at
Hwy 2 and then east on #2 Hwy to King Pitt Rd., then south on King Pitt Rd.

Just as I thought a pattern might set up, the bird messed it up.
Yes, it came in between 8 and 8:30 am to the feeders behind #120, but it
didn't come down until about 9:20 and only gorged on sunflower seeds for
about 5 minutes. It liked the new feeder which is higher and has a squirrel

Much of the inner portion of Presqu'ile Bay and the marsh in Presqu'ile
Provincial Park are now frozen over, so much of the best birding is to
be done offshore and from Bayshore Road, where there are also several
active bird feeders.

About 4:15 p.m. today while birding with a friend, we found what we
believe to be an immature Trumpeter Swan near the old twin mast wreck at
the western end of the Beacon Marina at Jordan Harbour. This bird was
also there a week ago. After comparisons of immatures in a number of
bird guides as well
