Rondeau Report May3/04
Cool N winds shifting to SW today kept birds generally quite. Best bird of the
day was a Kentucky Warbler along Spicebush Trail. This may well be the same
bird seen sporadically here since Friday.
Rondeau Bay and Marsh produced some interesting birds with Lesser Yello
Cool northwest winds kept the warblers low except in the south end of
Thickson's Woods. In the meadow was an Eastern Kingbird. In the mudflats of
Corbett Creek was a solitary Sandpiper.
Within the woods a Golden-winged Warbler kept many birders "hopping" about
as the bird was rather elusive. My co

Partial clearing last night, but remained very cool, with winds continuing from
the north. There appears to be few if any new migrants, but many birds
present yesterday are still here. Clearing skies and north winds indicate a
probable hawk flight

Very cold overnight, with some clearing.
Refound yesterday, May 2nd, was the Yellow-throated Warbler, this time ranging
between White Pine parking lot and the Willow picnic area, travelling with a
large mob of mixed warblers, many Yellowrumps, several of Black-throa
On May 2 at 6pm I found a Yellow-breasted Chat in Shell Park, Bronte(
south-west Oakville). The bird was along the creek between the two bridges
opposite the concrete water outlet. The bird was very skulky as I could not
find it 10 minutes later. Among the 11 species of warblers in the area were
8 matches
