Dan Salisbury called to ask me to pass on, that he and John Keenleyside (who
originally spotted them) just saw two Black-necked Stilts at Townsend Sewage
Lagoons.

Point Pelee Park Bird Report May 19
A fairly good influx of migrants have been found today in the Park. Winds have
switched to a more northerly flow, and it is now sunny.
Apparently the Kirtland's Warbler, was relocated just north of the location
from yesterday, which is just a bit closer to
Doug McRae and Bruce DiLabio just called to say that the Black-necked Stilts
found earlier today at the Townsend lagoons were there up until 11:30 this
morning when they got up and flew off to the east. They watched them until
they were out of sight. The Eared Grebe was still present.

Hello all:
On Monday Norm Muir posted a message about an eared grebe at Townsend sewage
lagoon, along with the following instruction:
These lagoons are only accessible on the weekend.
Now, there have been a couple of messages about black-necked stilts being
seen at the lagoons (Wednesday
The Black-necked Stilts were still at Townsend, when I left there at 11:30
this morning( although another report just said they may have left just as I
was leaving). Other birds seen were Eared Grebe, three Wilson's Phalarope,
one Black-bellied Plover, and eight Dunlin.
Cheers Tom
Hi Stephen,
I don't honestly know if the lagoons are open to the public at any
time, because there are no trespassing signs posted. These signs are posted
for obvious safety and other concerns, but since there is no one patrolling
these lagoons that I am aware of, as long as we are
Thanks to George Pond, at 12:30 P.M. today, we found the pair of
Black-Necked Stilt at the Jarvis Sewage Lagoons.
They were first reported at the Townsend Lagoons this morning, but by the

The whimbrel posted yesterday at the Tollgate Ponds was not seen today at

grooming itself for the next photographer behind the long low rocks on
We sent the following through to Ontbirds at 2 P.M. today. It still has
not appeared on our screen.
Is there some delay?

Dennis has reported the Clay-coloured. While viewing it this AM there or at
other places (Cranberry/Sobey's) I was sharing my bird-bible, my National
Geographic Birds of E.N.Am., so very much filled with personal add-in notes.
If it is found please phone me-- 905-666-3897-- I am beside myself.

My father Mike and I observed the Black-necked Stilts reported at Townsend
Sewage Lagoons at about 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon. The birds were present
in the first cell visible on the path up from the gate, and loitered in the
area for about 20 minutes affording good views. After that, they
Birders,
This evening there was a adult Laughing Gull in the shorebird habitat at
Hillman Marsh. This indivdual may be the same bird I had May 9.
10 Whimbrel were along Hillman Beach late in the evening. I believe it was
the same flock that was on the rocks earlier at Wheatley Harbour.
