This has been another good week for birding at Presqu'ile Provincial
Park, with interesting sightings of individuals in a variety of bird
families.
Common Loons are appearing regularly, but as yet there has been no sign
of Red-throated Loons, which have returned by the end of September in

at Rock Point Provincial Park, Ontario which was seen on Sept. 6. Some

I went looking for the white goose we saw today at Cranberry Marsh
Hawkwatch and found one white morph Snow Goose feeding among the large
flock of Canada Geese on the lawn at Whitby Mental Health Centre. This
isn't far from Cranberry so it's likely the same goose Doug Lockrey

Over 4 hours migrating hawk numbers, on a mild southerly wind-day, totalled
11, including 2 OSPREYS.
Other birds included Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Blue-headed
Vireo, 2 Lincoln's Sparrows, 26 Tree Swallows, C.Yellowthroat,
Yellow-rumped W., Am.Redstart, White-breasted and Red-brea
A search by Doug and Ron Tozer (utilizing chest waders) of the sedge marsh
adjacent to Lake of Two Rivers Campground in Algonquin Park turned up three
Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows this morning, between 9:30 and 10:30. This
site is being monitored for this species, given its presence there last

Greetings again,
Bruce Di Labio and I went out this morning birding Gull Island, the
lighthouse area and Calf Pasture. The best bird was a juv. Long-billed
Dowitcher. It was initially sitting on Sebastopol Pt., then flew to the
shoals off from Owen Pt., then finally flew over Owen Pt. heading to

Barry Cherriere and his wife. From about 5:55 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. last
night we watched as two Parasitic Jaegers exhibited what looked like a
