An osprey was checking out the nesting platform across
from Guelph Lake yesterday afternoon.
This nest has been active for the last few years, with
a number of birds fledging from there.

Sorry this post is a day late but I didn't get home until late and I am
getting a little older now so I needed some sleep before writing this.
Yesterday Ian Cannell and I birded the Long Point Area and besides the great

For anyone still hoping to get their fix of Bohemian Waxwings, there was
a flock of approximately 60 (and a few Cedar Waxwings mixed in) feasting
on fruit trees this morning along the south side of Queen Street (just
east of Dixie Road) in Brampton out in front of the Bramalea City
Centre. The

11am today Reesor Pond, about 3/4 free of ice, hosting a nice variety
of birds - among them Bonaparte Gulls, Tree Swallows and 10 duck

This morning at 9:30 I observed a Whooping Crane flying just south of the 401
between Highbury Ave. and Wellington Road exits.It was flying East and
descending so it could very well be in the area..a short search this A.M.

My wife and I observed two Fox Sparrows on the Green Ribbon Trail this
evening (April 7) at 7:15 PM. A week earlier than last year.
In addition, there were a pair of Belted Kingfishers in the area where the
Martindale Rd bridge crosses the pond and a pair of Wood Ducks were
