Hello:
Sorry about the late post but I had no computer access yesterday.
I was in Orillia yesterday visiting my father and as I usually do I checked
out the Orillia Landfill at the end of West St.
At about 1030 I noted a medium sized first year gull with a brightly
bicoloured pink and black bill

Hi Everyone
Spent another interesting day birding Amherst Island. The "Owl Woods" again
hosted 2 Northern Saw-whet Owl, 1 Barred Owl and 1 Long-eared Owl. There were
still a number of White-winged Crossbill, Pine Siskin and Purple Finch in the

Yesterday on November 1st several of us observed a Brant at the confluence of
the Speed and Grand River just off Riverside rd. in Cambridge. It was also seen
today in the early morning but when I went to find it in the afternoon it was
not present. Directions:From Toronto area head on the HWY-4
Today Martin Mallet, Jamie Morris-Pocock and I birded along the Ottawa
River from Remic Rapids west to Shirley's Bay, as well as the
Deschenes Rapids from the Quebec side and the Moodie Drive Quarry
Ponds. The weather was lovely and clear but the sun produced a lot of

Good evening folks
Today Ian Cannell, Margaret Liubavicius and I birded The Spit and a good
choice Sunday rather than Saturday turned out to be. Around 8am as we walked
along the entrance causeway checking the passing small flocks of Pine Siskins I
looked up to see a small Loon flying low off

Hi everyone
Spent most of the day birding Amherst Island. It was a nice day with lots of
activity. Highlights included 3 Northern Saw-whet Owl and 1 Barred Owl in the

After completing our section of the Hamilton Fall Count, Brian Ahara, Scott
Watson and I raced to Fort Erie to look for the juvenile Sabine's Gull. We had
little trouble finding it.
We started by looking for birders on the U.S. side of the river. Once we got
past the fishermen, we observed 4

I spent much of today at Andrew Haydon Park, searching for some previously
reported goodies. The day consisted of large numbers of CANADA GEESE, with a
raft of about fifty SCAUP (they were too far away to ID greater or lesser).
There were approximately 20+ BUFFLEHEAD, 1
1 Osprey was seen by myself and Ellie Kubisz about 1:30 P.M. flying near the
Humber River in Pine Point Park. Pine Point Park is at the foot of Allenby
Ave., the first street off Islington Ave. north of Hwy 401 in Etobicoke.

This is a revised report on our totals as Martin Bence & Alfred Adamo put in
an additional 2.5 hours after I left & the winds shifted pushing migrating
Raptors over our site !I'm most grateful they put in the extra time !!!
