Today at approximately 3pm, there was a flock of about thirty White-winged
Crossbill's foraging on pine cones at Bronte Park in Oakville. They were on
the west side of the Park at parking area F at the south end of the park.

There were 2 Barrow's Goldeneye (males) at 2:30-3:00 in the Rideau River, near
the417 bridge (downtown Ottawa). One was about level with the parking lot at
the south endof North River Rd. (or a couple of hundred yards north of the 417
bridge). The other was about twenty yards south of the foo
There was a single adult California Gull on Lake Victoria this morning. It was
sitting on some ice with Herring and Ring-billed Gulls. Also on the lake were
4 Hooded Mergansers. Yesterday there were 2 Wood Ducks there.

Over the past few weeks a push of winter birds arrived in York region north of
Toronto. Last weekend Snowy Owls showed up at their two most common wintering
grounds in this area: the Holland Marsh vegetable fields west of Newmarket and
the farm fields along Ravenshoe Road in southwest Kesw
