Jerry Ball and I went to Reesor Pond to look for the Ross's Goose. We arrive
around 3:00 pm and checked to no avail and then spent an hour and a half
checking the fields to no avail. Heading home we checked Reesor Pond one last
time but it wasn't there. Then we noticed a large number of Canada

A single Osprey perched in the top of a tree along the side of River Road
within 100 metres of last year's nests.(adjacent to the Scugog River)
River Road runs west of Highway 35 (a few km. south of Lindsay) and winds
around several km. until it reaches a small bri
There are still reports of hundreds to occasionally several thousand in the
area from Williamstown to east of Lancaster but the birds are unreliable.
Additional reports of several thousand came in from further north in the
Riceville - St. Isidore areas.

Went back 12.30 to double-check & scoped goose for a clear look and found it
quite small compared to adjacent Canadas - I assume it is a Ross's Goose : it
lacks the black grin patch while the greenish warty protuberances at the base
of its bill are quite evident - Reesor Pond lies just north o
