Thanks to the sharp eyes of Stu Mackenzie, he and I were able to get on to the
Black-tailed Gull as it flew by the Bird Studies Canada office about 5 minutes
ago. It is presumably the same bird that has been seen off and on at Port
Burwell just west of here on Lake Erie. A full adult in basic
Yesterday, 8 December, there was a cooperative Purple Sandpiper with
two Dunlins on Gull Island at Presqu'ile Provincial Park on Lake
Ontario. Knee high rubber boots are needed to wade from Owen Point to
Gull Island. Don Shanahan went farther out to Sebastopol Point where
he saw two more
Good Day Fellow Birders:As I stood fwatching Mr. P this morning, I couldn't
help but admire his stamina and tenacity, having survived such a wickedly windy
snowy, night. We received approx. 3 inches of very wet snow followed by steady
rain which continues still. Mr. P. was sitting quite high
Hello Ontbirders
Spent yesterday birding both Amherst Island and Presqu'ile Provincial Park. In
the Owl Woods on Amherst Island I observed 1 Barred Owl and didn't find
anything else in the woods. At the east end of the island, K.F.N. property,
there were 3 Snowy Owls, two visible from the road
