I spent the afternoon travelling the back farm roads in Eastern Ontario east of
Casselman. While, overall, there were few birds to see, I did have one female
Snowy Owl flying along Concession Road 21 parallel to Highway 417. There was
also a flock of two dozen Snow Buntings

Hello Ontbirders
The birding on Amherst Island was very good today with a nice selection of owls
and hawks. In the Owl Woods we found 1 Boreal, 3 Northern Saw-whet, 1 Barred,
and 1 Long-eared Owl. At the East End (KFN property) there were 2 Snowy Owls
and near Stella 1 Short-eared Owl was
Presqu'ile Provincial Park continues to be a hot spot for winter
birding. Observers can find a number of species not commonly found in
winter, especially water birds, as long as there is open water, of which
there has been plenty in the past week.

An adult female perched on nearest large 'rolled' hay bale NW corner of
5th Line W Garafraxa and SR #25 W Garafraxa in beautiful full sun ~10:45 this
morning. This is 2 concessions east of Metz, which is SE of Arthur.
