Just at dusk today, while searching unsuccessfully (again) for the Pacific
Loons, we spied a PURPLE SANDPIPER and a DUNLIN foraging together on the
algae-covered rocks directly across the harbour from the Lighthouse.
Definitely made up for the missing loons!

My lovely girlfriend Jenn and I spent 5 days in the Moosonee area this
past week. Bird life generally had a winter/boreal trend, with winter
fiches, northern owls, boreal landbirds and gulls making for most of
the noteworthy sightings.
The most unusual observation came in the form of an adult SABI

Today I birded the Leslie Street Spit with Peter McParland, Bill Smith and
Margaret Liubavicius and like Friday it was a good day to be birding.

I just had three golden eagles fly over Leslie street spit, towards high park.
If anyone is quick on their toes, they may be able to see them fly over. This
was around 4:50 pm.

With the winds finally shifting, it was a good day at the Tommy Thompson
Park Bird Research Station. There were flocks of Red-winged Blackbirds in
the hundreds (with some Common Grackles mixed in) as well as Snow Buntings
and American Pipits. A lone Lapland Longspur also flew over. Ou
A WILSON'S PHALAROPE was at Blenheim S. L. this afternoon in Pond 1. It is
a record late for the Rondeau birding area. The last late date was 21 Oct
2006 at the same location found by myself. Presumably it is the same bird
that has been hanging out there all month. Strangely, we had the recor

This morning at around 10 am, I had a swallow fly by that was either a cliff
or cave swallow. Lighting was poor, and it was 400-500 m out over Lake Ontario,
flying West towards Port Credit.
I also saw 5 horned larks and 6 snow buntings that flew in off the lake. 1
