The results of Sunday's Christmas Bird Count at Presqu'ile Provincial
Park, demonstrate convincingly that if enough people make a concerted
effort, the Park can yield surprisingly good results, in this case over
60 species without leaving the Park. Seven of those were rare enough in

Don't know if the Ottawa CBC is done or not and if they aleady have a Grreat
Blue, but there is one in a little crick near the intersection of Herzberg Rd
and Carling Ave in the west end of Ottawa. At 3:30 PM today, maybe 100 m east
of the intersection on the north side of Carling is a stream
Today, Barb Charlton, Dave Don, Chris Street and I embarked on another
winter listing adventure in the Greater Toronto Area.
After an hour an a half of cold wait we were able to relocate the Wood
Thrush along but behind the wire fence at the west end of Lynde Shores
Conservation Area in Whitby.
Don Perks and I were able to relocate the Wood Thrush at Lynnshores
Conservation Area today without difficulty. I also saw the bird Monday.
The bird was feeding and quite active. The bird is active west of the
chickadee feeding trail near an old wire fence about 5 minutes from the
parking lot.

The gift of sighting this beautiful bird was made possible by gracious host
Elmer Ewert who pointed out the best viewing opportunity in his driveway
this morning, December 23 and advised me to wait, the bird would be back.

At noon on December 22, the bird was still present at the same location as
described by Paul Eagles. It was not present when I arrived, and had
apparently flew off as I pulled up in my borrowed Prius. After waiting about
1/2 hour in the car, the bird finally returned and spent most of the time
