This morning, at 722, there was a Great Egret at the north end of Van
Wagners Beach. In all likelihood, this is the same bird that Kevin
McLaughlin reported to Hamilton Birders yesterday; he saw it there at
830 Saturday morning. I was also at the High Level Bridge, in Hamilton,
with Peter
Ken Burrell just phoned to say that he just found a male Eurasian Wigeon at
Laurel Creek reservoir in Waterloo. This is the first record for the region in
a very long time and likely only the second record ever. Also present was a
single white Snow/Ross's Goose(Ken figured Snow but hadn't

Just back from trying to view the Greater Snow Geese along the St. Lawrence
River. As Brian Morin mentioned from his posting of yesterday, most of the

There is a beautiful male Harlequin feeding in the pebbled bay between
Humber Bays East and West in Toronto. Seems to be keeping company with
a female Bufflehead.

This morning (April 3rd) I birded the Black Oak and Ojibway Prairie areas in
Windsor. Black Oak had my first Wood Ducks of the year, but little else of
note other than a lot of people walking dogs. Ojibway Prairie, on the
