Sorry for the late post but Rich Fried and Rob Bate saw the adult
SLATY-BACKED GULL late on Tuesday afternoon. It was on the large flat rock
island that is in the middle of the river below the control gates. They
were viewing from Goat Island, just upstream from Three Sisters Islands.

this is second hand information but a person where I work said they saw a
Snowy Owl perched on the old Police Station at the NE corner of Zimmerman
Avenue and Park Street in Niagara Falls, Ont. yesterday evening at 4:30.

Late in November I had an adult chipping sparrow at my feeder anmd again on
Dec. 4 th this bird again visited the feeder
Talkming to John Lamey he had a blue-winged warbler in early December at St
Catherines area.

Ontbirders:
Determined to add the Slaty-backed Gull to my year's list, I parked
myself at pull off near the Control Gates in Niagara at 12:15 p.m. today. I
set up my scope and scoured this section of the river for hours. Birders
came and went. Finally at 3:35 p.m. I spotted the Slaty-backed Gull
24 Bruce Birding Club members found 31 species of birds in the Kincardine
area today. The highlight being a 1st winter Franklin's Gull at the
Kincardine harbor. The Franklin's pleased the audience with several flybys
and eventually alighting right in front of us all. Meanwhile all over the
harbor
From noon today (December 7th) until mid afternoon, we saw thousands of Snow
Geese (perhaps 20 thousand plus) in the area between Highway 138/417 and St.
Isadore. Our first sighting was of thousands of Snow Geese landing to join
others in a field on the South side of Lafleche Road. As we drove
