At 7:00 p.m.+ I was looking at two WHITE-FACED IBIS feeding on the mudflats of
the shorebird cell at NW Hillman Marsh.
One was an immaculate adult, the other was a one-year-old.
Anyone looking for these birds should NOT walk on the mudflats at this time.
Shorebirds are tame and will tolerate
Present right now:

16 White-rumped Sandpiper
4 Semiplamated Plover

1 Western Sandpiper (probable 1st cycle)
Most of the shorebirds were concentrated on mud on east edge of lagoon 4. The

An adult, breeding plumage, Laughing Gull was observed at 15h50, by Tom

Today (Sunday) at about 1230, I spotted a male Common Goldeneye at Bayfront

While conducting our part of the Durham Summer Bird Count, Terrie Smith and I
found a leucistic Red-tailed Hawk. This was a spectacular bird that was

my return trip they were (I presume they were the same two) in a small field on
the east side of the highway. Unfortunately I didn't get the
03.06.12 - 9.30 am - 1 Semipalmated and 2 White-rumped Sandpipers
busily feeding on patches left showing of the inundated spits - these birds
had better hop-to if they have promises to keep - Reesor Pond lies just
north of Hwy 407 on Reesor Road in Markham - cheers - Stan Long
It is with deep sadness that I need to let the birding community know that
Toronto resident and long time TOC member Ed Johns passed away early this
morning at the Scarborough General Hospital. While Ed had been in poor health
for many years he showed great courage in his fight with a difficult

it and
